About the clinic

How to prepare for the study

MRI — no metalTake off jewellery, watches and clothes with zips. Tell us in advance about a pacemaker, implants or prostheses — whether the study can be done at all depends on it.
Abdominal ultrasound and gastroscopy — fastingNo food for 8 hours before an abdominal ultrasound, and none from the evening before a gastroscopy. A pelvic ultrasound is the opposite: drink water an hour beforehand.
Bring your earlier imagesFor a repeat study the doctor needs to compare it with the previous one. Everything done through MedOne is already in your health record.
Contrast needs a creatinine testA contrast MRI or CT calls for a recent creatinine result and information about iodine allergy. The test can be taken the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral?
For most studies — no, you can book it yourself. A referral is required for contrast studies and some endoscopies; if a doctor issued one through MedOne, it is already in Referrals.
When will the report be ready?
X-ray and ultrasound — right after the study, MRI and CT — the same day. Images and the report arrive in the app and stay in your health record.
How is a contrast study different?
Contrast highlights vessels and soft tissue, so it shows what a plain image cannot separate. It costs more, calls for a recent creatinine result and is done on an empty stomach.
Can I get the images on a disc?
Yes, on request at the clinic. Usually there is no need: images and the report open in the app, and the doctor sees them at the appointment.
